Why is it so hot?

I had a rough couple of days because of this heat. Had to work at the State Farm booth at the Columbus Jazz and Rib Fest for 4 hours last Saturday and I know I lost 10 pounds at least. My daughter takes tennis lessons every Friday and I sat out there while they took water breaks every 5 minutes, I was sitting there baking! So if you happen to come into the office anytime soon you may think it is too cold and this is the reason!

July 4th Weekend

Man............I had a busy 4th weekend! My daughter plays tennis and had practice Friday night. Saturday afternoon both of my children, my wife and I walked in the New Albany Parade for their soccer teams. Saturday evening we watched fireworks in New Albany ( the finale was crazy!) Sunday and Monday we swam!

My family is my everything. I had such a great time with them. These times are few and far between because of my schedule with work and other events. This weekend showed me that you always have to put family first!

Thank-you for the great weekend, Brooklyn, Jaydon and Mommy! :)

Get Involved!

Some exciting things happened last weekend. One of our staff members, Shelley, worked with GenNext.

What's GenNext? Well, GenNext is for young community-minded volunteers interested in making a real difference in central Ohio, United Way’s GenNext provides a way to be more deeply involved in creating long lasting change in our community. A growing group of more than 400 members, GenNext is a vibrant, talented group of young adults in their 20s and 30s who are interested in serving central Ohio through volunteerism.

Mission: GenNext will further motivate the next generation of central Ohio professionals to strengthen the community by creating an environment where community-minded individuals can participate in service projects and educational opportunities while connecting with their peers. The next generation of leaders will become involved in strengthening a community in which everyone has the aspirations, resources, and opportunities to reach their fullest potential.

This past Saturday these dedicated individuals donated their time to help renovate an elderly woman's house. The team participated in many volunteer activities that included replacing light bulbs with energy efficent ones, caulking windows and doors, and landscaping.

If you would like to be a part of this great service group, please check out their Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/pages/GenNext/97472583712.
